The Giants are Coming

Perth’s CBD will come alive in February as part of the Perth Festival, when two giants from renowned French street theatre company Royal de Luxe explore the city.

Royal de Luxe’s ‘The Giants’ will be a major public event for the people of Western Australia and Hawaiian is proud to be a supporting partner of the performance.

The event will take place from February 13-15, 2015 and commemorates the 100 year anniversary of the ANZACs landing at Gallipoli.

The six-metre high Little Girl Giant and the 10-metre Diver will spend three days in the City of Perth. Incredibly human, they will interact with crowds during their visit.

Hawaiian CEO Russell Gibbs said the event would be a first for Perth.

“This is going to be a transformational experience for the people of Perth and Western Australia and Hawaiian is extremely excited to be a part of this,” he said.

“We believe this event will be a highlight on the Perth Festival calendar for 2015.

“There will be a huge wow factor surrounding The Giants and we are sure that the people of Perth will be touched by their visit to our city.”

Perth Festival Artistic Director Jonathon Holloway said the city was in for a delight.

“Royal de Luxe’s ability to develop spectacular events which evoke emotional responses from an entire city to mark momentous occasions is unmatched,” he said.

“The city that says yes to Royal de Luxe is rewarded with spoils and smiles.”
