Hawaiian Ride for Youth 2015

Over 150 cyclists are set to take on the 700km Hawaiian Ride for Youth 2015, starting the five day challenge from 24 March through to 28 March 2015.

Every year since 2003, Hawaiian has supported the ride which sees cyclists travelling from Albany to Perth to raise funds for Youth Focus. The funds raised are fundamental in delivering their ongoing work to help prevent youth suicide within our community.

This year the event has grown, now including a third peloton as well as the launching a new initiative, the CEO Challenge.

Hawaiian’s CEO, Russell Gibbs was the first amongst the group of Perth CEO’s and company owners to commit to the challenge – an 80km ride from Mandurah to Perth.

“We’ve had teams from Hawaiian participate and they challenged me to take part, I couldn’t previously and while in the past I've found good reasons not to, this time I ran out of excuses,” Mr Gibbs said.

“Taking part in the CEO Challenge has made me further appreciate the dedication and mental stamina these riders have and how important the ride is to highlight the important work Youth Focus does in our community. I encourage all CEO’s to take part…it’s only 80 kms!”
