Carillon City makes its mark on Perth Monopoly

The Perth edition of the Monopoly board game has been unveiled at Fremantle Prison, with special guests The Mayor of Fremantle, Monopoly Tourament world champion Greg Jacobs and Mr Monopoly.

The board’s 22 Perth landmarks that replaced the famous London streets of the original board was voted by Perth residents via Facebook. Carillon City bumped off Trafalgar Square for the most expensive Red Square and London's Mayfair made way for Kings Park as the coveted top spot on a Monopoly board game.

The Perth edition of Monopoly includes destinations including The Bell Tower, Fremantle Prison, Cottesloe and Scarborough beaches, Rottnest Island, Perth Arena, Paterson's Stadium, Perth Zoo, Adventure World and Crown Perth. Even the utilities have also been localised, as well as buses, trains, ferries and the airport. The Community Chest and Chance cards have also been tweaked so that players can win prize money at a surfing competition at Trigg Beach or a season pass to the Perth International Festival.
