Rob Broadfield Dinner proves to be a winner Telethon

The Rob Broadfield Dinner for Telethon, hosted by Hawaiian at Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa, for the second year raised $125,000 for Telethon. Eighty guests were treated to an exclusive weekend of culinary delight, entertainment and exquisite fashion at the iconic West Australian resort.

The weekend began departing Perth with a champagne brunch aboard a private charter flight. Saturday afternoon showcased fashion and some intimate tales at an 'Up Close and Personal' High Tea with Aurelio Costarella. Guests enjoyed champagne and sweet delights while models paraded Costarella fashion worn by celebrities and listened to Aurelio's tales about each dress. The stories and celebrity figures included Rhianna, Dita Von Teese, Melissa George and Geri Halliwell.

Guests were treated to a stunning Cable Beach sunset and canapés by Guillaume Brahimi at a cocktail party on the Resort's Okari Deck overlooking the magical Cable Beach. The evening continued in Club Restaurant where guests indulged in a five course degustation dinner prepared by Guillaume Brahimi and a dessert by Sydney patissier Adriano Zumbo. The menu incorporated seared scallops, cauliflower veloute, dhufish, wagyu beef, shimeji mushrooms and Guillaume's famous Paris Mash. Adriano's dessert was a masterpiece with eight elements including violet, buttermilk, caramelised carrot and rose ice cream. The gastronomy dinner concluded with an auction, which saw items such as, “A New Year’s Eve degustation dinner at Guillaume's Sydney Opera House restaurant” and Sydney 'The Star' escape with private master class by Adriano Zumbo donated to support Telethon.

The culinary delight continued on Sunday with a Macaron Master Class by Adriano Zumbo's Head Macaron Chef, Mathieu Bhavarel. The audience watched on and learnt how to craft the perfect macaron with their own personal flare, learning that the chef and staff make some 11,000 macarons daily.

The weekend concluded in style with a Fashion Luncheon at Sunset Bar & Grill. Aurelio Costarella wowed the guests with a fashion parade showcasing his Summer 2013/14 collection. In support of Telethon a range of fashion items were auctioned including a hand-beaded Aurelio Costarella cape and a selection of Hatch statement pieces.

The successful weekend will see Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa's General Manager, Ron Sedon, present a $125,000 cheque to Telethon at the upcoming Telethon Weekend on Sunday 20th October.
