Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa was a sea of pink
Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa was a sea of pink on Thursday 3rd October when it hosted its annual Pink Ribbon Breakfast. This year marked the sixth Pink Breakfast held at the Resort, raising funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
$5,000 was raised at the breakfast for breast cancer research. 130 guests enjoyed pastries, pink mocktails and a hot breakfast as they listened to the courageous journey of NBCF guest speaker Nicole Deegan.
Nicole was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003 at the age of 25 just months before her wedding day. Nicole underwent surgery, had a breast reconstruction, radiation and chemotherapy. Ten years on from treatment, Nicole is now in remission and has three children.
"We like to show that breast cancer is not something that just happens to our Mums and Grandmothers - it can happen to young people. It pays to know your body and ask questions if you think anything is wrong," Nicole said.
