$1 Million for Telethon

The Rob Broadfield Weekend for Telethon, presented by Hawaiian at Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa, has raised $400,000 for Telethon, taking the event tally to $1,000,000 raised over the past four events at the Resort.

Kerri-Anne Kennerley, the surprise MC, joined world-renowned chef David Thompson of Nahm Bangkok and X Factor 2013 winner Dami Im to stage a spectacular evening on Saturday 13 June 2015, overlooking Cable Beach.

Other highlights of the weekend were the Boys Den for the football while the ladies indulged at the Pearlers High Tea, Sunday morning breakfast created by Aaron Carr from Vasse Felix and the Sunset Beach Club with fashion from Claremont Quarter.

The incredible auction items saw frenzied bidding take place over the weekend with one lucky guest bidding $25,000 on a last-minute auction item offered by an excitable David Thompson: dinner for 20 people at their home in Perth, with a guided tour of Bangkok thrown in.

Former politician Matt Birney and FIIG Director Simon Lyons worked the crowd with their impressive auctioneering, which saw two generous bidders put up $20,000 each for 3D Pain and Anxiety Distraction Systems, supporting children whilst undergoing treatment.

Hawaiian CEO Russell Gibbs said “We were very proud to host this event at Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa. This event isn’t just a great weekend for our guests, it is about raising much needed funds for sick children who are supported by the great work by Telethon.”
