Mental Health Month this October!

This October we are supporting National Mental Health Month 2022!

Did you know 1 in 5 Australians are affected by mental illness annually, yet many don't seek help due to stigma. The prioritisation of mental health and wellbeing has been more important than ever due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

National Mental Health Month is an initiative of the Mental Health Foundation Australia (MHFA) to advocate for and raise awareness of Australian mental health. It is an important time where the Australian community comes together to raise awareness and promote better mental health for all.

Mental Health week specifically will be held from the 8 October till 15 October with the underlying theme of 'Where we live. How we live. What we've lived.' With 10 October being World Mental Health Day the message this year is simple - 'Look after your mental health, Australia'.

Understanding how the mind, body and environment intersect is essential to our overall wellbeing. Physical health both inside of us and in the world around us has a significant impact on mental health. The food we consume, movement of our bodies, the health of the planet and quality of our housing and neighbourhoods all play a part in building health communities and individuals.
