International Men's Day | 19 November
International Men’s Day 2022 will take place on Saturday 19 November every year and is marked in around 80 countries worldwide. Our theme for International Men’s Day in Australia is “Celebrating Mateship” and our aim is to inspire more men to #MakeTime4Mates. Mateship is a key feature of Australian national identity and has a particular association with close male friendships.
International Men’s Day in Australia is a great opportunity for you to:
- Highlight some of the social issues that men and boys face
- Make a difference for the men and boys in your community
- Celebrate men and boys in all their diversity
With this in mind, our International Men’s Day 2022 theme aims to inspire more men to #MakeTime4Mates and build better social connections by:
- Making time for old mates
- Making time to make new mates
- Reaching out to mates who are doing it tough
You can get involved this year by valuing male role models, acknowledging the contribution of men and boys and fostering positive gender relations.
